Stage Draperies & Backdrops
Coldraco, Inc. has been manufacturing stage draperies and backdrops for over thirty years. They are used in many facilities including auditoriums, gymnasiums, churches, schools and colleges, assembly halls, theaters - even photo studios.
There are 3 parts to stage draperies:
Prosceium Draperies - These are the main front drapes and include a valance.
Legs and Border Draperies - These are made with materials that will absorb light and sound. They also act as a shield for off stage production.
Backdrop Draperies - These are made of fabric similar to what is used for the legs. They are used to help with light and sound control.
Fabric
All our main stage drapes and backdrops are made with polyester materials. This type of material minimizes possible shrinking or expanding. They are also inherently flame resistant and meet the NFPA 701 requirements.
Fabrication
A box pleat construction of webbing and grommets are applied to the top of all draperies, valences and backdrops. We also add continuous weights at the bottom for added weight. These help to have the drape hang properly.
Track and Rods
Coldraco, Inc. supplies two types of track systems with its stage draperies. The first option is a Corded track system. The other does not employ cords but uses ball bearing carriers. These carriers are known for their ease of maneuverability.
